The Space freakin Needle!
When it comes to Seattle, two things pop into your mind, apart from the rain... Mount Rainier (Vlog ->) and Space Needle. Space Needle is an amazing architectural marvel with a futuristic look and a needle-like structure at the top pointing to space, hence the name (how cool! right). The protagonist of the Seattle skyline stands tall at 605ft with an observation deck and rotating restaurant (A great spot for a date!).
The space needle observation deck is a great experience. Tilting glass benches leaning out over the city, the world's first and only revolving glass floor, and unmatched views of Seattle and beyond. The revolving glass bottom is a great experience, one of a kind. It's exciting to walk over it... and it's funny to see people around you getting scared or going goofy about it. The Loupe is the world’s first and only revolving glass floor located on the 500-foot level of Seattle’s landmark tower. With never-before-seen views of the structure and city below, The Loupe makes a revolution around the skyline every 30 minutes. The Loupe Lounge serves up showstopping mixology paired with tastes of the Pacific Northwest.
This iconic spire is equally beautiful in the daytime and at night. I'm fortunate enough to visit it during both times. If you've never been to the top of any skyscraper before, I'd suggest going at night.
Once you've enjoyed the Seattle Space needle observation deck... DO NOT ... do not miss the Chihuly Garden. Chihuly Garden and Glass is an exhibit in the Seattle Center directly next to the Space Needle, showcasing the studio glass of Dale Chihuly. There is also a live class with an up-close experience of glass blowing. Words can't describe how wonderful the glass exhibits were. Fun fact: If you've been to Vegas and taken selfies at the Bellagio 'flower' ceiling... that's Chihuly.
Finally, don't forget your souvenir.
Parking: Valet parking is $20, and street parking is cheaper.
